Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Whatsjob, a division of Gowri Foundation (CIN U88900AP2023NPL110869), 45-44 A-12, 80 Feet Road, New Colony, Visakhapatnam 530016, Andhra Pradesh, collects and uses your personal data. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, Gowri Foundation is the Data Fiduciary.
We collect only what we need to help you find work or find workers, and we never sell your data.
1. What data we collect
- Job seekers (chatbot, website form, walk-in centre, associates, WhatsApp or phone): name, mobile number, type of work, experience, area, preferred centre, expected salary, age (optional), any message you send, and your preferred language.
- At a walk-in centre, our staff may note that your documents (for example Aadhaar or ID) and skills were checked. We record only what was seen. For verification we store only the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar or ID, never the full number, along with which checks were done (ID seen, phone verified, address or area confirmed, met in person), who did them and when. Employers see only a "Verified" badge.
- Employers: business name, contact person, phone, email (optional), location, roles and number of positions needed, salary range, and payment records for packages.
- Employer panel (online login): your password (stored only in a scrambled, hashed form that we cannot read), business type, address and GST number if you give them, the vacancies you post, the candidates you unlock and the status you mark for them (shortlisted, interview, hired, not selected), and an activity log of logins and changes with date, time and IP address, kept for security and to settle disputes.
- Associates: name, business name, area, phone, email (optional), ID proof details you choose to give, and payment and tax details needed to pay your fees.
- Refer a Job: your name and phone, and the job and employer details you share with us.
- WhatsApp and calls: messages and call details you share with us on WhatsApp or by phone. WhatsApp is run by Meta and its own privacy policy also applies.
- Video profile (optional): a short video you choose to send us on WhatsApp, the date it was added, the staff member who added it, and your consent to show it to employers.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your submission, used for security and to stop spam.
2. Why we use it
- To register you and contact you about jobs or candidates.
- To match job seekers with suitable vacancies and share profiles with verified employers.
- To verify employers and associates, and to prevent fraud, fake jobs and misuse.
- To pay associates their service fees and keep accounts and tax records.
- To answer your questions and complaints, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your data for any other purpose without asking you.
3. Your consent
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box (or, at a walk-in centre, by agreeing after our staff explain it to you). We record the date and version of the terms you accepted. Some processing may also be done for legitimate uses allowed by the DPDP Act, such as meeting a legal duty.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to +91 99631 40558, or by writing to our Grievance Officer. After you withdraw, we will stop sharing your profile and delete your data unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing does not affect what was done before.
5. How long we keep it
We keep job seeker and employer data while you are using the service. If there has been no activity for 2 years, or once you ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymise it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example, payment and tax records, which are kept for the period required by law).
6. How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards: the website uses HTTPS, admin access is protected by passwords and limited to authorised staff, phone numbers are masked for associates where not needed, and staff are told never to write ID numbers in our records. No system is completely secure, but if a personal data breach happens we will inform affected people and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access: ask what personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
- Correction: ask us to correct or update wrong or incomplete details.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Grievance redressal: complain to our Grievance Officer, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Nominate another person to use these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
To use any of these rights, call or WhatsApp +91 99631 40558, or write to the Grievance Officer. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond as soon as we can, and within the time allowed by law.
